The National Super Alliance (NASA) will rectify Jubilee’s mistakes should they be voted in during the August 8 General Election, principals Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka promised as they led the Opposition’s charge into Pokot County Friday.

Speaking in Makutano town, Odinga accused Jubilee of mismanagement of the economy, saying that the cost of living has skyrocketed since Uhuru Kenyatta took office in 2013.

Promising to reduce the cost of basic commodities if they succeed in unseating the UhuRuto team on August 8, Raila said that Kenyans are fed up with poor leadership.

“Uhuru and Ruto have failed this country and Kenyans are tired of their poor leadership. NASA is bringing hope to Kenyans,” said Raila.

The Opposition flag bearer also faulted Jubilee for looking the other way while extrajudicial killings were carried out in the North Rift, saying that Jubilee had failed to tame insecurity in the country.

“The Jubilee government has allowed innocent Kenyans to be killed in Baringo, West Pokot, Laikipa and Turkana Counties. We want Uhuru and Ruto to take up responsibility of insecurity in the Country,” he said.

Outlining NASA’s agenda for the county, Raila said that lowering the cost of living will be his team’s priority.

“We will lower the cost of living, improve security, ensure free education from primary to secondary level, proper implementation of devolution, create employment opportunities to Kenyans among others,” said Raila.

On his part, Kalonzo asked voters to come out in large numbers on August 8, saying their votes would ensure that Kenya is liberated from the snares of corruption.

“We are telling Kenyans from all corners of this country to come out in large numbers in the August polls to vote for NASA .This is the only way to ensure Kenyans are safe from the corrupt cartels running this country,” said Kalonzo.

Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto accused the DP of using the Kalenjin community for his own benefit, noting that there is little to show in the region since Jubilee took power.

“We cannot allow one man to continue doing business with our people. Ruto has failed our communities for the last five years,” Ruto said.

Ruto further said the Jubilee government has done little to empower pastoral communities, despite knowing that these communities have been marginalised since independence.

Mudavadi said the NASA team will liberate the nation from the yoke of corruption and tribalism, with Wetangula adding that the season was ripe for change.

“Time has come for change and change is inevitable .our brothers from the other side should be ready to go home because Kenyans have spoken loudly,” said Wetangula.

Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok, Senator James Orengo, Kiminini M.P Chris Wamalwa and other local leaders were present during the function.
