Jose Mourinho gave the most bizarre gesture after Manchester City fans chanted the F- word during the derby

Stakes were high last night at the Etihad Stadium as two of England’s heavyweights and European football powerhouses faced off in an epic clash in which bragging rights as well as Champions League positions were up for grabs.

Manchester United battled it out with Manchester City in a tightly contested match that saw United’s big Belgian Marouane Fellaini red carded for what appeared to be a nasty head-butt on Sergio Aguero. Man United were able to hold off the Citizens to a barren draw, leaving the two teams separated by a point at 4th and 5th, with Man City leading the line.

Manchester derbies have never disappointed and this time, it was Jose Mourinho who was caught on camera responding to a section of Man City fans who chanted “F*** off Mourinho” after Otamendi’s challenge on young Marcus Rashford. Mourinho didn’t seem to be bothered and responded with a wave that appeared cheeky to some extent, clearly showing that he was focused on what was going on in the pitch than off it.

This is not the first time Mourinho has heard this chant as it happened to him during his tenure at Chelsea, where he won several titles before being ousted last season after Chelsea’s poor start to the season.

Mourinho was quick to accept the Fellaini red card and highlighted that he was not impressed by it.

The race for the top four is in its climax as there are only two points separating 3rd and 5th, with Man United having a game in hand, which could potentially see them move into the top four if they win.
