Body of security guard found in Rongai coffee plantation

RONGAI, KENYA: Police officers are investigating an incident where a 45-year old man was found dead in a coffee plantation in Olbonata area, Rongai Sub County.

Rongai police boss Joseph Mwamburi said the incident was reported by Zablon Njoroge, a manager at the farm after the deceased Joseph Toroitich Chepsang, a security guard was found dead on Tuesday morning.

Mwamburi said Toroitich's body was recovered with bruises on his head, neck, arms, legs and face with blood oozing from his private parts.

He noted Toroitich might have been sodomised by unknown criminals and later dumped on the farm.

"The security guard might have been brutally killed according to evidence by police officers who visited the scene," said Mwamburi.

The body was taken to Nakuru County Mortuary for postmortem while police officers have commenced investigations into the case to arrest those behind the gruesome incident.

Meanwhile a 48 year old woman was mysterious killed and later dumped Kimuri village in Kuresoi Sub County after she was reported missing on Sunday.

Kuresoi OCPD David Wambua said the deceased Esther Njeri had gone to church but did not return home and later found dead on Monday morning with bruises on her head.

"The woman was last seen by residents at around 7pm returning home from church but she did not arrive home. Efforts by her husband to reach her over phone including going to the church was fruitless as her mobile phone was switched off," said Wambua.
