The Government has ordered all individuals who have served in the board of the troubled Kihiu Mwiri land buying company to report to Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters Friday 9am for questioning.

Lands acting Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet Thursday said those who have held positions in the company will assist in investigations into the cause of the killings at the 1,200 acres of land.

Boinnet disclosed that a homicide unit of CID has been dispatched to gather information on the hit men and financiers behind killing of 10 directors and several abduction incidents.

Addressing the press at Gatanga Deputy County Commissioner’s office, Matiang’i said the deceased directors, Josphat Wanyoike and Chege Mwangi, were part of the task force he appointed to speed up issuance of title deeds.

Other directors of the company who have been killed are Newton Muhoro, Ngugi Kamau, Benson Ngumi, Wilfred Gichana, Kuria Kimani and Paul Muhuhi.

The Cabinet Secretary said the Government would not be cowed by cartels to stop the process of issuing of title deeds.

He said the Land department has seconded 100 officers to help the task force toward adjudication of the land starting on Monday.

Director of CID Ndegwa Muhoro who accompanied the two said detectives who have been on the ground are pursuing several suspects.

Sources inside a closed door meeting in Gatanga revealed that county commissioner Ms Kula Hache, County Police Commander Naomi Ichami and Josphat Kinyua of Administration Police were accused of having failed to curb the killings at the trouble land buying company.

During an earlier meeting held in June, and which was also attended by the county leadership led by Governor Mwangi wa Iria and County Commissioner Kula Hache, it was resolved that a task force led by Director of Survey Cesare Mbaria and Murang'a County Land Secretary Sarah Masaki would ensure that titles are ready by September 4, 2015.
