South Sudanese killed in a fight in Donholm, Nairobi assailant missing

NAIROBI: Police are investigating an incident in which a South Sudanese national was killed in a fight in their house in Donholm, Nairobi.

The deceased is said to have picked a quarrel with another South Sudanese Saturday night in a bar before the fight spread to their house where the body was discovered.

The suspected assailant is missing and efforts to trace him are ongoing. The body was later moved to the mortuary. Police said they are yet to know the motive behind the fight and subsequent death of the victim.

"We were informed the men had fought from a bar and spread to their house where the deceased passed on. We are investigating," said Buruburu CID boss Henry Kiambati.

Elsewhere, a woman has been arrested over the disappearance of her husband in Nairobi's Kangemi area.

The man is believed to have been murdered and his body disposed at an undisclosed place over family differences.

Police say multiple informers had told them the man was killed by a hired gang and his body disposed but they are yet to recover it.

The man went missing last week on Wednesday before police were informed of the killing. The woman is expected in court today to face murder charges.

Cases of murder in families have been on the rise in the past months.
