MCAs defend Executive's work record

Three MCAs have rubbished claims they harbour intentions of sending the governor and county executives home.

Speaking to the Press, the MCAs dismissed reports in a section of the media that the Executive had  absconded work, adding that there was no intention by the assembly to send home any executive member or employee.

Abdirashid Osman (Warankara), Saad Ahmed (Fino) and Abdullahi Abdirahman (Arabia) accused the media of fabricating the reports, thus misleading the public.

According to the reports attributed to 10 MCAs, Governor Ali Roba allegedly runs county affairs without consulting the assembly members. The ward representatives are reported to have said the executive members have been out of office for the last two months. They also alleged the governor is engaging in sideshows after cancelling tendering process for major projects. The MCAs dismissed the reports as untrue.

Mr Osman said the assembly and the governor are doing their work in accordance with the law and the assembly has no plans whatsoever to summon or dismiss the Executive headed by Mr Roba.

"We don't have any problem with the Executive and we have been working hand in hand to make sure our county is propelled to the new stage of development," he said.

He also refuted claims that the governor has been away from office for two months. "The governor has the blessings of the people of Mandera," he said.
