2013 KCPE candidates to receive exam results by sending SMS to the code 22252

By AUGUSTINE ODUOR

The Kenya National Examination Council (Knec) has clarified that 22252 is the short code to be used by candidates to access their results immediately after today’s release.

Knec Chief Executive Officer Paul Wasanga asked parents and pupils to ignore any other short code earlier published in a section of the media.

CLOGGING SYSTEM

He asked the pupils to avoid sending many text messages that may clog the system.

Education Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi will today release results for pupils who sat this year’s KCPE examinations. Some 844,475 pupils sat this year’s examination in 23,819 centres.

Mr Wasanga said Knec engaged 132,187 contracted professionals to manage field administration, 24,182 supervisors, 52,730 invigilators, 48,200 security personnel and 7,075 examiners.

The results today will be a perfect New Year gift for best perfomers in the KCPE exam compared to last year that saw the results release pushed forward following teachers’ nationwide strike.

KCPE results have traditionally been released immediately after Christmas celebrations.
