Gor Mahia raised Sh2.4million at the gates during Sunday’s CAF Champions league match against AC Leopards at Nyayo Stadium. However, the club banked less than Sh2million as the rest was taken up by statutory charges including a percentage to the Sports Stadia Management Board. Gor Mahia Assistant Secretary General Ronald Ngala said they expected a higher turnout. “We were expecting to collect more money but it looks like not many fans turned up,” he said. The club needs close to Sh5 million to honour their return champions league fixture against the Congolese club next month.
