Banange! Nairobi gals are too aggressive! - Ugandan comedian Patrick Salvador

I first came to Kenya in 2009 by bus. I had come to perform at the Uganda Night at the Carnivore. I travelled throughout the night and did not see much.

But I got the real Kenyan experience when I got to Nairobi. Banange (my God!), Nairobi girls are aggressive! Back home, a man has to work very hard to even get a simple ‘hi’. Even our female journalists are very shy.

In fact, if I was in Uganda, I would be the one chasing them for this interview.

After the show, I decided to ‘chill’ with some new friends from Nairobi.

Man, Nairobians can drink! In Uganda, I’m always the last man standing. But on this night, I was the first one to surrender and leave. When I called them the following morning, they told me they were at work. How now?

The other shocking thing is the traffic.

In Kampala, we struggle with boda bodas, but here everyone drives.

We were stuck in traffic for two hours and no one seemed bothered. In fact, they told me that traffic was good that day!

So when and how do people make it to work in time?

Salvador spoke to Cate Mukei.
