Shock as attackers kill one person in Marakwet east


Tension is high in Kapyego location, Marakwet East sub-county of Elgeyo Marakwet after assailants killed one person.


Confirming the 3 am incident, the area chief Vincent Kimito said that the attackers who were armed with an AK47 and whose mission is yet to be known entered Jackon Kilimo’s homestead based in Kapchoge village and shot him three times on him in the chest, killing him on the spot.They the fled without stealing anything.



Mr. Kimito further said that public barazas have been effected to plot moves to reach the suspects.According to Marakwet East OCPD Lemmy Njiru, the police are investigating the incident to establish the motive behind the killing.He added that they are engaging the villagers to aid in arresting the armed attackers.



Two weeks ago, armed cattle rustlers suspected to be from Kipchumwa location on the border of Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot counties killed one person and stole at least 10 cows in neighboring Kewabus village.
