Kenyans have been left confused after aspirant Ochillo Ayacko announced himself winner hours after incumbent Okoth Obado had won Migori's ODM gubernatorial ticket.
On live TV, Ayacko was given a certificate declaring him winner of the hotly contested race.
He had earlier obtained a court order blocking ODM nomination results. The order stated that the results had been nullified and any further announcement would be an act in futility.
Ayacko approached the Appeals Tribunal claiming that the nominations were not being handled in a fair manner. Three returning officers and their deputies also resigned from Uriri, Suna West and Awendo constituencies.
Kenyan have taken to social media with mixed reactions;
What just happened in Migori ?! Ochilo Ayacko & his advisers should give people a break. @TheODMparty shd hand Okoth Obado cert IMMEDIATELY
