Nicki Minaj revels how she said her last prayer when she nearly died

USA: The rapper made the shocking revelation during an acceptance speech at the BET Awards.

The rapper confessed she had a near-death experience last week but was too afraid to call an ambulance.

She made the surprising revelation during an acceptance speech at the BET Awards last night.

Collecting the honour for Best Female Hip-Hop artist, she said: "The other day, literally I didn't tell anybody this, I really thought I was about to die.

"Like, I was saying my prayers to die.

"And I didn't even want to call the ambulance because I thought, 'Well if I call the ambulance, it's going to be on TMZ.'

"I would rather sit there and die. And it made me realize I don't care what anybody got to say. I'm going to do me."

During the speech Nicki also throws some serious shade over her rap rival Iggy Azalea while plugging her upcoming album.

She said: “My point is, what I want the world to know about is when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it."

The diva then brought her fingers up to her lips and implied she wasn't going to say any more.

The crowd gasped and guffawed in equal measure as the super Bass singer posed and rocked her curves on the stage.

She then added without convincing anyone: “No, no, no…no shade.”

It's thought Nicki was making a dig at Iggy who is rumoured to write little of her own material despite being one of the most successful hip-hop artists around.
