A 32-year-old Taiwanese man identified only as Hsieh, was found slumped motionless in his chair at an Internet cafe in Kaohsiung city last week, according to Yahoo News.
"Doctors found the man had died of cardiac arrest and ruled it a 'sudden death' from prolonged computer gaming," reported the paper.
An employee of the cafe told the paper that Hsieh was a regular customer and would play the game for several days non-stop.
"When tired, he would sleep face down on the table and doze off slumped in his chair. That is why we were not aware he was dead at first," said the employee.
The attendant noted that at the time of his death, the man had played combat computer games for three days non-stop.
It is the second case of computer-gaming deaths in the country since the year began and authorities are becoming worried about the trend.
Interestingly, as police went to investigate the death at the cybercafé, they found other patrons busy playing and they were so engrossed in the games that they did not care about the death of their colleague.
