#WCW – Actress Lizz Njagah Konstantaras, Her gallant love for the arts

Celeb Profiles

Lizz Nyagah

By Sheila Kimani (@sheilakimm)

Known for her acting prowess, Lizz Njagah is well known for her ‘serious’ roles on local and internationals shows, as well as plays in which she used to take part in.

Born in a family of ten, Lizz was the seventh born in a house that was evidently full of fun and excitement. However despite the noise and fun in their household, she was a rather reserved and shy girl, which changed as she grew older and acknowledged her creative sides.

When their mother passed on their aunt Florence Auma took over and raised the children as her own and despite the initial challenges and an absentee father in their lives, she turned out well.

For her high school education, Lizz attended Ngara Girls High School but later relocated to Sacred Heart School in Kiganjo where her love for the arts got perked up.

In love with the arts, she joined the Kenya National Theatres back in 1998 during which she was fortunate to receive the KWAL scholarship. The scholarship saw her join the Phoenix theatre team where she learnt the theatre ropes as she got involved with staging various productions.

Thanks to her prowess on theatre stages, she got the chance to act on a local program ‘Makutano Junction’ that also aired on M-Net series. From then on, she received and acted in many roles, even getting to work on ‘Tinsel’, the Nigerian soap Opera.

Thanks to an array of roles, she has been nominated for many award and went ahead to win some including the Best Actress Award for her role in the movie ‘Return of Lazarus’.

Her love for acting saw her start ‘Historia films’ alongside her husband Alex Konstantaras with whom she has been able to bring in new actors and mentor them into the world of acting.

With such a love and passion for the local arts and theatre works, Lizz is not only a game changer but a mentor and inspiration to many who seek to emulate her. It is on this note that she is our WCW today.
