Kenya’s first cosmetic company Suzie Beauty is up for some competition.
Nigeria’s leading beauty and cosmetics company will launch its products in the country on November 28 and 29.
Owned by Tara Fela-Durotoy, Forbes magazine’s 20 Young Power African Women, House of Tara will be conducting make-up master classes for professional make-up artists and make-up trainees.
“The master classes aim to instill ethic and financial empowerment for young women in beauty and cosmetic industry. Tara will also be launching her beauty product line, tailor made for the African woman for the Kenyan market. The two-day event will take place at the Nairobi Serena Hotel,” read a statement forwarded exclusively to Heads Up.
Fela-Durotoye is a Nigerian make-up artist and lawyer and a pioneer in the bridal make-up profession in Nigeria.
She launched the first bridal directory in 1999, set up international standard make-up studios and established the first make-up school in Nigeria. House of Tara currently has 20 studios in 11 Nigerian states, with a workforce of over 80 employees and more than 1,000 reps across the country.
It plans to expand its footprint in South Africa, Kenya and Ghana by the end of 2015.
