A first-year student from JKUAT is the new Bungoma County Miss Tourism 2014.
Valma Chepchumba, 22, from Mt Elgon, was crowned Miss Tourism 2014 after beating 18 other beauties for the crown.
The competition was held at Kibabii University College on September 13 evening, but extended to the next day.
Chepchumba, a student at the Kitale campus told The Nairobian she is certain she will win the national Miss Tourism contest slated for December 4 .
She promised to use her new position to campaign against early pregnancies that continue to ravish the region.
Bungoma County Governor Ken Lusaka graced the event.
