Central Bank of Kenya sells dollars to stop shilling's slide

Kenya: Central Bank of Kenya sold an undisclosed amount of dollars on Thursday after the shilling weakened, helping to temporarily stem the currency’s losses, traders said.

Commercial banks quoted the shilling at 91.00/10 to the dollar, compared with Wednesday’s close of 91.10/20. Traders said the shilling touched 90.90/91.10 to the dollar after the sale, before giving up some of the gains.
