Tech firm donates Sh5 million for KCB motor sport

Nairobi; Kenya: Telecommunication solutions provider, IwayAfrica, is sponsoring the 63rd KCB Safari Rally to the tune of Sh5 million as part of the firm’s community support project. “The support includes cash and communication services, Internet connectivity at all rally sites and the Kenya Motor Sports Federation (KMSF) offices,’’ said the firm’s Managing Director Ken Munyi. Munyi explained that IwayAfrica is the official communications facilitator for The KCB Kenya National Championship Series, a role they have played since 2006 and has partnered with KMSF since then to maintain fast communication for safety of competitors and for dissemination of media information.

“This is a very important part of the safety of competitors where the organisers are able to pinpoint the position of each car, deal with cases of stalled cars to avert accidents, and risks of collision by speeding cars from the rear,” says Sylvia King of KMSF.

“The sponsorship also provides connectivity for KMSF communications with competitors and the official website that keeps competitors and the public abreast with motorsport disciplines in Kenya.” she emphasised.

IWayAfrica, an Internet Service Provider (ISP) company offers solutions over satellite, fibre optic and wireless networks. It has presence in 44 African countries.
