Husband to slain Nairobi ‘prettiest gangster’ shot dead in Juja

: Two suspects including a boyfriend to slain and perceived prettiest gangster were Sunday killed during a police ambush.

Nairobi, Kenya: Two suspects including a boyfriend to slain and perceived prettiest gangster were Sunday killed during a police ambush in Weteithie area, Juja.

Police said George Mwaniki alias Mwanii was killed together with another suspect identified as only Willy after being trailed by officers following a botched robbery in Kayole area.

Officials said Mwanii was the husband to slain female gangster Clea Adi Vybz aka Clair Njoki. She was killed in May in Kayole.

According to police, Mwanii was a ringleader of banned Gaza group, which has been blamed for killing police in Kayole, Dandora and Utawala and engaging in other criminal activities.

Mwanii has been on the run for almost five months. Their death were celebrated on social media groups "Dandora Crime Free" and "Dandora Love People".

The social media groups shared pictures of the two lying in a pool of blood with a gun next to the bodies.

The sites are believed to be managed by police officers who are out to reach many youths in Dandora, Kayole, Huruma, Umoja and other places and who have ventured to crime.

On those sites, an administrator identified as Hessy wa Kayole, Hessy wa Dandora, Hessy wa Huruma and other places depending on the targeted place, usually issues warnings to suspected thugs on the lose and tell them their days are numbered.

Before his death, Mwanii had gone to the social media and accused police of killing Claire for no reason.

He addressed Hessy wa Kayole- the police officer who has been laying to waste, criminals in Nairobi Eastlands area: "Hessy, stop taking the credit for killing Claire saying that you had warned her and just settle your grudge with me like a man instead of dragging innocent people into battle they know nothing of."

Police had then said Mwanii had tasked his wife Claire with carrying his gun on days that he committed crimes in Nairobi.

Claire, who was celebrated on social media as Nairobi's prettiest thug, was buried in a tense ceremony attended by few friends and relatives in Murang'a. Claire, together with another male suspect, were killed in a police shooting in Kayole. Her accomplice known as only Minaj was also killed days later

Details of their shooting were revealed on a Facebook account run by the unknown person claiming to be a police officer.

The page has been posting pictures taken at crime scenes in the area and is known to many locals.

Police said then they recovered an automatic pistol with serial numbers written in Arabic. The pistol had five bullets and the owner had shot three bullets whose spent cartridges were also recovered.
