Mombasa residents kill stylish gang leader as poilice arrest five other members

An agitated mob killed a wanted notorious gang leader on Sunday at Old Town in Mombasa County as he allegedly attacked and robbed a Madobini resident.

Mohammed Bobocha was among criminals of the 'Old Town Youth Gang' and has been on the wanted list for having taken part in several crimes.

According to the area OCPD Lucas Ogara, two other accomplices were with the Mohammed as they attacked the local taking his belongings.

"He was confronted by locals and killed by an irate mob after he attacked a resident," said Mr Ogara.

He was among the youthful criminal gang members’ list that the police released with photos in May.

The thugs are known to be using knives as they engage in thuggery, terrorizing locals.

The OCPD confirmed that they had arrested five others and seized lethal weapons they use in the acts.

The gang, targeting young, male and female students is said to have been set up as a football club before they diverted their agenda for unclear reasons.

They are said to be in drug networks and other illicit engagements so as to sustain their over-the-top lifestyles.
