Mamadou Sakho is finally ready to leave Liverpool after accepting he has no future at Anfield under Jurgen Klopp.

Sakho has been exiled to Liverpool’s Under-23 squad since angering Klopp with his behaviour and knows he must leave in January to resurrect his career.

Lille are interested, but Sakho’s £100,000-a-week wages could be a stumbling block and Liverpool would have to heavily subsidise the loan move.

Klopp initially dropped the French defender, who cost £18million from Paris St Germain in 2013, in the summer for disciplinary reasons when he sent him home early from their US pre-season tour.

Sakho, 26, then annoyed Klopp by rejecting a loan move to Stoke on transfer deadline day before further antagonising him with an outburst on social media when he claimed he “can’t accept the lies” being said about him.

Klopp banished Sakho to train with the Under-23s and the centre-half has finally accepted there is no way back for him under the German.

Sakho, who signed a five-year deal at Anfield 13 months ago, has not played for Liverpool since scoring in the 4-0 Merseyside derby win over Everton in April.
