Woman’s chopped body parts found in Umoja, Nairobi

NAIROBI, KENYA: Police have launched investigations following the discovery of a woman's body parts stuffed in a plastic bag in Nairobi's Umoja Estate.

The neatly cut hands, head and legs of the unidentified woman were found in the paper bag in a thicket near Fadhili Primary School and no arrest has been made so far.

The woman's torso is still missing, police said when they discovered the other parts on Monday.
Buruburu DCI Jeremiah Ikiao said his officers were called to the scene by locals who had complained of a bad smell and they suspect the woman was killed somewhere and the body dumped in the area.

"Efforts to identify her and get those behind the murder are ongoing. We suspect the woman was killed elsewhere and the body parts dumped where they were found," said Ikiao.

The team took fingerprints of the woman's hands. The well chopped off body parts seemed to have been stored in a refrigerator before being dumped there.

The remains were moved to the mortuary as investigations into the incident launched.
