Interviews for the position of Director of Medical Services (DMS) have been rescheduled two days after they had been suspended indefinitely.
The interviews the Public Service Commission (PSC) had scheduled for Monday and Tuesday will now be held on July 18 and 19.
Some of those eyeing the post told The Standard that PSC has already informed them about the new dates.
The commission called the candidates on Friday informing them that the exercise had been put off.
PSC chairperson Margaret Kobia said: "The interviews were postponed because Ministry of Health officials who are expected to be panellists travelled out of the country."
The position fell vacant after Dr Nicholas Muraguri was appointment Health Principal Secretary.
Dr Jackson Kioko who has been serving in the position in acting capacity for six months now is among the top candidates.
Kiambu County Director of Clinical Services Andrew Toro, who is also the chief executive of Thika Level Five Hospital, has also been shortlisted.
The DMS is Government's principal adviser on medical and public health matters. The holder is also the Registrar of Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
