Ahadi CEO: Politics? Not me, I live for the poor

Monday Blues

Contrary to widespread rumours that he will be running for the Murang'a governor’s seat come 2017, Ahadi Kenya CEO Stanley Kamau has said he is not interested in the seat.

As he celebrated his 47th birthday over the weekend, Mr Kamau said he would have considered joining politics if it was not for his grandmother’s warning: That he should never join active politics.

Kamau moved hundreds of his guest during the celebrations hosted in Murang'a as he narrated how his granny, who was as also celebrating her 97th birthday, told him to dedicate his life to the poor for his entire life.

“The pressure from people for me to join politics has been there but I am not joining politics. My grandmother warned me a long time ago that I should never join politics but dedicate my life to the poor and that is why I started the anti-jiggers national campaign,” he said.

“I share a birthday with my grandmother and she determines many of the decisions I make. I draw wisdom from her. I never go against her word. Politics is not on my mind. Even after retiring from my anti-jiggers campaign, I still won’t join politics,” he affirmed.

The glitzy ceremony was attended by politicians, corporate chiefs and showbiz celebrities among them Jaguar and DJ Pierra.
