Raila Odinga to launch commercial flights to Homa Bay

Stakeholders inspect the Kabunde Airstrip in Homa Bay County air transport is expected to improve in South Nyanza with the launch of regular flights on Thursday.

 

NAIROBI: Opposition Leader Hon Raila Odinga will tomorrow, Thursday launch a commercial air flight from Nairobi to Homa Bay town, County of Homa Bay.

This will be the first regular commercial flight to the larger southern Nyanza and is seen as key indicator of devolution opening up Kenya’s countryside for tourism and other businesses in addition to making movement of goods and services easier.

The plane, operated by Flight 540, will take off from the Wilson Airport at 10am and will be expected in Homa Bay shortly before 11 am. The airline is expected to fly to Homa Bay at least four times a week.
