A cloud of shame and disgrace hangs around Kangemi Catholic Parish where Pope Francis paid a courtesy call.

Pascal Mwijage, the Father in Charge of St Joseph the Worker, Kangemi, has been accused of womanising, according to faithful there.

But the soft-spoken Tanzanian priest, simply laughed off the allegations.

He claims someone broke into his drop box and is now blackmailing him.

“In fact, they have sent me an email asking for money.” he said.

The accusers however presented documentary evidence with the priest in compromising situation.

“We have suffered long enough under the hands of Father Pascal, please do not let him near the Holy Father,” said our source.

The man presented CD containing romantic photos.

Speaking on grounds of anonymity, he confirmed that Fr Pascal loves women.

“I found Father Pascal in a compromising situation with a Catholic Sister. I simply shut the door and left,” said our source.

Another male member of the church’s youth group also alleged that Fr Pascal snatched his girlfriend. The girl in question apparently had landed a job with the Church’s secretariat.

“I confronted her and we talked about the issue.”

When The Nairobian presented the photos and various cases to Fr Pascal, the head of Jesuits in Kenya was not shocked.

“All those photos are meant to cause me problems but I do not fear.

“They hacked my dropbox. Yes, I am the on those photos and I know all these women.

Some of these photos were taken in Kenya while the rest in Arusha in company of friends and church members,” he said.

Going through the photos, the father offered clarification.

“This was taken during a party in my living room. It was a small gathering. I have seen all these photos, my people too have seen them,” he said pointing at the pictures.

“This is Carol, a sister to the other girl. The photo was taken during her birthday party in Kiambu. We were in a garden and I was holding her,” explained Fr Pascal. When asked why he looked too close to some of the women in the photos, Fr Pascal retorted that they are known to him.

“You can do anything you want because even their parents know about this photos. Ask the mother of that girl. In fact, this photo was taken by her mother,” he explained.

“Someone broke into my drop box and they are now blackmailing me. In fact, they have sent me an email asking for money.”

Father Pascal claims that one of the emails sent to him reads as follows:

“Hi Pascal We would like to let you be in the limelight that we have been carrying out our extensive intelligence about your relationship with some girls in the church circles. Through our hacking team we have acquired photos of you with some girls.

A few bloggers and a media print are willing to publish the whole story ... Remember the highest bidder takes it all and its in the public interest if you don’t comply that it shall be in media soon. Ours is business. Regards IntelNews Correspondent”

Father Pascal said that he has been waiting for such a moment because most of the said people are peddling photos taken in 2005.

He said: “I do not know them but my boss, the father provision of my congregation is well aware of this matter.”
