Governor Salim Mvurya  and members of the county assembly have formed a nine-member committee to reconcile one another.

Last week, about 25 members of the county assembly threatened to impeach him over the suspension of a Sh400 million bursary fund.

The fund was suspended by the Controller of Budget last month who argued that the law establishing it, contravened the Constitution regarding the principle of separation of powers, by making MCAs patrons of the fund at ward level.

She further said that the MCAs should not implement projects, since that is a function of the executive arm. MCAs expressed their disapproval by threatening to impeach the governor.

The MCAs also demanded the removal of ward administrators appointed by the executive from the fund at ward level.

The county representatives have also quarreled with Mr Mvurya for refusing to sign bills the executive found unconstitutional.
