Young people today face confusion about what constitutes right or wrong. Being cautious is considered boring, being conservative is equated with backwardness while 'cool' is defined by a reckless lifestyle. Today there is something wrong with you if you get to college while still a virgin.

You are boring if you can't share stories of extreme fun, sexual escapades, endless drinking and getting 'wasted'. The popularity of sporting events such as the famous 'Masaku Sevens' where the after event parties are characterised by activities and scenes that shock parents but create envy among those who miss out is a clear reflection of this shift. The youth who were recently arrested in a Matatu taking alcohol and smoking bhang would be considered cool by majority of their peers.
