Man interrupts own funeral after family thought he had died

Zimbabwe: A man is claiming he survived a vicious attack from a thug only to arrive home two days later to interrupt his own funeral.

Posting on the social network Reddit, the man, known only as Kingvim, said the peculiar incident happened when he was living in Zimbabwe some years ago.

In a lengthy post, he said that he had set out to visit his aunt in a village 400km away but after several hours of driving he stopped to pick up a hitchhiker.

After a few minutes of polite conversation, the mysterious man asked Kingvim to pull over as he felt sick.

The hitchhiker got out of the car and began making loud hurling noises.

When Kingvim got out of his vehicle to check upon on the man, he was attacked.

The hitchhiker stole everything Kingvim had on his persons, including his phone, wallet, keys and of course, his car.

According to the Irish Mirror, Kingvim said: "Eventually I came across a settlement.

"I explained to them my situation and they told me where the nearest main road was.

"Eventually I came across a road and started waiting.

"After a couple of hours, a car stops and lets me hitch.

"I let him know the situation and he says we’re going in the complete opposite direction of my intended destination but he’s willing to drop me anyway."

It took Kingvim an additional two days to get to his intended destination.

And something very bizzare was happening when he arrived.

"As I am getting closer to my aunties, I can hear a lot of singing and what appears to be a large crowd which I thought was strange.

"I see my son, which I thought was strange because he was supposed to be in school, but instead of running to me and hugging me like normal, he runs away screaming.

"I get to the gate and all of a sudden the large crowd, alerted by my son’s screams, have stopped singing and are stood silent.

"My wife appears and starts to run toward me, hugging and kissing me, as though I’ve been gone for months.

"My auntie appears and immediately faints."

Kingvim had no idea that he had interrupted his own funeral.

"I still have no clue whats going on at this point and I'm exhausted, so we rush to get my auntie inside and I see my picture ontop of a large box that resembles a coffin sitting in the living room.

"It turns out the guy who robbed me and made off with my car, wallet and clothes was in a car crash so bad that they couldn’t identify the body.

"The only thing they could use to identify him was my wallet and so everyone assumed I died in the crash.

"My son still has nightmares to this day and my wife has told me to never pick up a hitchhiker ever again."
