A 51-year-old woman has been detained at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) for the last seven months after failing to a pay a bill that has accumulated to Sh650,000.
Emily Njeru, a mother of two from Kanja, was admitted to KNH on November 2014 to undergo specialised treatment for a spinal ailment. According to medical reports, she was treated and discharged on December 15, 2014 when the hospital bill stood at Sh335,200 but the amount has risen to the current figure.
