Victor Wanyama, the renowned Southampton defensive midfielder will definitely refer to history books the next time he is buying an outfit.

This came after he learnt his lesson the hard way after wearing a grey t-shirt with the Confederate flag impression across it. Critics immediately bashed his look with some even taking the chance to school him on some history.

Sadly the impression was similar to the flag that Dylann Roof, (The 21-year-old white man who killed 14 black people in Charleston S. Carolina had posed with). This made it worse as people bashed him for the t-shirt with some making reference to Dylann.

Internationally, critics refer to the flag as a racist symbol that represents a war to uphold slavery and, later, a battle to oppose civil rights advances.

Upon realizing this Wanyama apologized saying.

“Am sorry it has come to my attention I was wearing a t shirt which has confederate flag but I was not aware what it means.”

He mentioned after people posted comments on his page.

“But it has been brought to my attention what it means and I just want to apologize to all those have been offended.” He concluded.
