Governor promises to eradicate poverty

Garissa County Governor, Nathif Jama Adam

The county administration wants to free residents from poverty and negative ethnicity in the New Year, a county official said yesterday.

Garissa County Communications Director Abdikadir Sugow said the administration will encourage and support the locals to engage in activities that promote their social, economic and spiritual welfare.

"Nathif Jama's administration is determined to foster development and help our people achieve their personal dreams in 2015," he said.

He said two years into the devolved system of governance, development projects that changed the lifestyle of the locals had been achieved and more was ongoing.

He urged the locals to desist from unnecessary political chest-thumping and support Governor Jamaa (above) in his mission to initiate development projects.

"The county government will continue to create a conducive environment for investors across the country," he said.
