Three arrested for 'burning' chief's office

Kuria, Kenya: Police in Kuria have arrested three suspects linked to the burning of an office belonging to Intimaru West assistant chief early this week.

It is alleged that the three, in company of others, stormed the office of John Mosabi, who has been vocal in campaign against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and set it ablaze, destroying crucial documents.

According to Kuria East Police boss Gladys Ogonda,  Mosabi has been at the forefront in fighting FGM in the region, rescuing some 800 girls who were set to undergo the outlawed act, which has been reported to be on the rise in the region.
