Kenyan Premier League (KPL) has another pending case after the match between Tusker and Muhoroni Youth was abandoned on Sunday night.
In a strange turn of events, Muhoroni Youth declined to continue with the game, claiming their opponents had fielded more than the required 11 players.
Kenyan Premier League (KPL) official GMT Ottieno said a decision on the matter will be announced by the company after going through the referee and match commissioner reports.
“It is unfortunate this happened, but KPL will soon make a decision on the way forward to resolve the issue amicably,” he said.
By the time the match was called off, Tusker were leading 2-1 with goals from Brian Osumba and Clifford Alwanga.
On the other hand, Ezekiel Otuoma had scored for Muhoroni Youth. Trouble started when Tusker were preparing to substitute Clifford Alwanga for Dennis Nzomo. However, Muhoroni players protested that both players were already on the pitch.
Protests from both sides did not quell down and the centre referee Andrew Juma was forced to call off the match.
Tusker had the first chance at goal in the 12th minute when Osborne Monday found Andrew Tololwa upfront, but the latter could not take advantage of this opportunity.
In the 35th minute Brian Osumba opened the scores with a pile driver which hit the roof of the net for the opener.
Elsewhere, Sony Sugar have officially written a protest letter regarding their controversial match against AFC Leopards.
The team, in a statement to KPL Chief Executive Officer Jack Oguda, has taken issue with a decision of a joint committee to order for a review of an appeal which ordered for the replay of the match.

Through club chairman Paul Orato, Sony Sugar have taken issue with two resolutions agreed at during a joint meeting of KPL and Football Kenya Federation (FKF).
Orato termed the first resolution calling for a review of the matter illegal and the second one putting off the match as unfair.
He said: “Under the rules of Kenyan football, the only judicial body within the federation responsible for second appeals regarding dispute resolutions is the National Independent Disciplinary and Appeals Committee.
“The FKF/JEC has no mandate to handle and purport to deal with appeals or order for a review on a decision made by IDAC. The act of JEC to order for a review of the decision is therefore an affront on the independence of the body. As an independent body within the federation, IDAC should not be arm twisted by anyone.
“It should be remembered that the mandate of FKF is limited to establishing IDAC and appointing its members and must not interfere with their work or independence. It is therefore prejudicial for FKF, which is not a party to the dispute between the two clubs, to order for a review of the decision as if they retained residual powers to do so.”
Orato claimed the stand taken by FKF on the matter is hell-bent on ensuring that AFC Leopards are given another chance.
He accused AFC Leopards of squandering a perfect opportunity to present their case to IDAC.
“They were given two days to avail a bank slip showing they had paid for the appeal and also present written prove for the appeal, but they failed to do so. Having failed to do so then, any document being presented now after the IDAC ruling is in our opinion, manipulated.
“There is no room for such a review and any party that is dissatisfied must go to the Kenya National Sports Council to protest. From the look of things, Leopards have found an ally in FKF who is encouraging them to disobey decisions made by a competent body.”
