President Uhuru Kenyatta to attend security meeting in US

President Uhuru Kenyatta will today attend a high-level regional security meeting in the United States.

The Regional Oversight Mechanism of the Peace, Security and Co-operation Framework for Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the region will discuss recent political and security developments.

President Kenyatta will also attend a meeting on domestic financing for health, whose theme is 'Invest to Save', which will be held at the UN headquarters.

The President arrived in New York, US, yesterday with First Lady Margaret Kenyatta to attend the 69th United Nations General Assembly and other bilateral meetings.

Tomorrow, the President will attend the opening plenary of the 2014 Climate Summit for Heads of State and Government. On Wednesday, he will address the UN General Assembly.

The First Lady will deliver the keynote address at a meeting for all the first ladies focusing on maternal and new born health, with special emphasis on adolescent girls.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has invited First Lady Margaret Kenyatta to deliver the keynote address.

The First Lady will also attend the 4th Official First Ladies and Fashion 4 Development (F4D) event. She will also attend the 7th Annual World Focus on Autism and 'Every Woman, Every Child September Event'.
