Bungoma ODM officials want Sirisia MP to quit for working with their rivals

Bungoma County Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders want Sirisia Member of Parliament to quit his position for allegedly siding with Jubilee administration.

Bungoma County assembly majority leader Majimbo Okumu, said that the ODM legislator is working with the Jubilee administration to undermine the opposition.

"I'm challenging Hon Waluke to quit his position and seek fresh mandate on a jubilee ticket for going against the party position and cooperating with the jubilee government," said Majimbo.

The Khalaba Ward MCA said that the legislator has been quoted several times that he is ready to take a different position from the one CORD has taken which is in contravention of the political parties Act.

"Let him be informed that we shall convene a branch meeting soon to institute disciplinary action as stipulated in the political parties Act," Said Majimbo.

The majority leader said that Waluke who is the Bungoma branch chairman has never convened a branch meeting since 2012 and whenever they remind him of the need to have one, he rubbishes the proposal.

"As a branch we also want to discuss his relationship with MCAs from sirisia constituency which is very frosty resulting into the party loosing popularity, why should he work with our enemies to undermine us," posed Majimbo.

On Friday last week Waluke was quoted in Sirisia market during a security meeting saying that he will work with the government of the day for the sake of development of his constituency.

"Even though am in opposition, I will work with the Jubilee administration for the sake of development because Sirisia has lagged behind in development projects and it's high time that we should engage the government for our own benefit," said Waluke.

He said that Sirisia Constituency had received Sh600 million from the ministry of water for drilling of boreholes and making available piped water which has been a setback to residents of the area.

He said that even if he is in opposition his people should benefit from the government coffers.
