Former MP Maoka Maore’s aide rescued from kidnappers

Nairobi, Kenya: Six suspects have been arrested and an aide to former Ntonyiri MP Maoka Maore rescued in a kidnap drama. The men had demanded a ransom of Sh500,000 before they could release the PA and his relatives had sent him Sh200,000 when police intercepted and rescued him.

Police say the gang had withdrawn Sh156,000 of the money and were moving to an Mpesa shop for a transaction in Embakasi area when they were trailed and intercepted using a mobile technology. The aide had been kidnapped from the city Centre and police say the suspects are expected in Makadara law courts to face robbery and kidnapping charges.
