Jamie Vardy and pregnant wife open up about death threats

Jamie Vardy and wife Rebekah claims they receive death threats on a weekly basis.

The Leicester City ace and his new bride have opened up about the shocking abuse they have to endure on Twitter, with trolls branding Rebekah a "gold digger".

Striker Jamie says he tries to protect his wife from cruel comments, which started after his team's Premier League triumph in May.

He told OK! magazine: "I tell her to ignore it. I get death threats every week on Twitter, people will always try and put you down."

Rebekah added: "People who didn’t know me portrayed me as a gold digger. It was offensive and hurtful to begin with."

The couple are expecting their second child together in January, and posed for an intimate shoot with the glossy mag with daughter Sofia, 20 months.

Rebekah already has children, Megan, 11, and Taylor, six, from previous relationships, while Jamie also has daughter Ella, six.

Speaking about the moment she told her hubby she was pregnant, Rebekah said: All I could say was f***".

Revealing it was a "surprise", the brunette beauty said she began feeling ill in June, while Jamie was away with the England team.

She continued: "We were going to try for a baby after the summer so we could enjoy our honeymoon and the summer break from football."

Revealing the moment she finally told him the news, Jamie added: "She FaceTimed me and said 'You know what we were talking about last night?' Then she turned the camera to the pregnancy test.

"She was so nervous about telling me as it was a bit sooner than we planned, but we're both very happy. We'll have a five-a-side team!"
