Briton denies killing Kenyan girlfriend

Kenya: A British national was yesterday charged at a Nairobi court with killing his Kenyan girlfriend. However, Carl Gary Singleton, 41, denied murdering 22-year-old Peris Ashley Agumbi before Justice Roselyne Korir.

He was remanded at Industrial Area Prison until February 19. Mr Singleton is alleged to have committed the offence on the night of November 19 last year in Gachie, Nairobi.

According to police, Ms Agumbi, a student at the University of Nairobi died of diabetic hypertension and respiratory failure, days after making a report to police accusing Singleton of flushing her life-saving medicine down the toilet.
