Despite the outcome of the Safaricom Sevens, the event did not disappoint. For the three days it was on, Safaricom Sevens lived up to its billing as the biggest rugby festival this side of the Sahara.
As For the Love of the Game had wished, dozens of skimpily dressed ladies, in the real sense of the word, turned up at the event giving it class and fun.a
Again, there was no repeat of the Masaku Sevens shame, which was a good thing.
Congratulations go to the organisers of the event for making it incident-free and memorable. One, however, wishes those security checks that were mounted at the stadium would be extended to Nairobi streets to curb crime.
The low of the event, however, was the elimination of Kenya's teams. The less we say about this the better. And again, one hopes that President Uhuru Kenyatta would find time in his busy schedule to attend the event next time.
