About the Migori apology that (almost) never was

Alas! I was mistaken when I thought we had heard the last from Migori, the county where Prezzo UK was humiliated by having an assortment of crude missiles, including well-worn shoes, hurled at his dais.

This week, Migori Governor Okoth Obado decided to marshal the county leadership to Nairobi, busing a strong delegation of 500 to the city simply to tell Prezzo: we are sorry for what happened...

It is reported that each delegate received Sh7,000 as allowance, presumably for food as they spent the night commuting, not in hotel rooms, then spent most of the day at Uhuru Park because that was the only space their many buses could be accommodated.

But it soon emerged that Prezzo UK wasn’t aware of the group’s tour, so the Migori delegation was left to soak up the heat at Uhuru Park as their meeting was adjourned to the next day.

I’m not sure if any of them had anticipated such delays and therefore carried a change of clothes and toiletries, or even some extra cash.

On the latter, I’m curious, as I’m sure many Kenyans are, how the money will be accounted for, or even if Prezzo UK offered an apology for not being able to receive their apology in good time.
