Woman in custody for sexually assaulting her friend’s dogs

New Mexico, USA: A woman has been arrested on suspicion of having sex with dogs - and then trying to poison the woman who owns them.

Shari Knight, 53, is accused of sexually assaulting Spike and Jake, the dogs that belong to her roommate Beverley Bradley.

The dogs reportedly suffered minor injuries during the incident in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, local news reports say.

The defendant is also accused of trying to poison the owner and her brother, the day after Ms Bradley allegedly caught Knight with one of the dogs.

Knight put rubbing alcohol in the siblings' water and washing up liquid and toilet bowl cleaner in their food, prosecutors claim.

Knight had been dating Ms Bradley's brother Jeffrey until he ended it after finding out about the alleged behaviour.

Speaking to KOAT action 7 News, Ms Bradley said: "There was no words. I was in total shock. I don't understand it."

According to the news channel, court documents say Walters admitted to the act, adding that she had 'done it many times before'.

Knight is in custody on a $15,000 dollar bond, charged with animal cruelty, aggravated battery and assault.
