British High Commissioner Turner tours Turkana County

The British High Commissioner, Dr Christian Turner

Turkana, Kenya: The British High Commissioner, Dr Christian Turner will be in Turkana this week for a four day official visit. This is part of his wider programme to build a deeper understanding of national and local issues while engaging communities and leaders in the country.

 His visit aims at seeking opportunities for deeper engagement between the UK and Turkana County and also highlights the range of UK Aid programmes in the area.

On Monday 14th July , Dr Turner paid a courtesy visit to Tullow’s operational site at Ngamia-3. He was accompanied by Tullow Kenya country manager, Martin Mbogo, representatives from the ministry of Energy & Petroleum, the UK’s department for International Development (DFID) and UK Trade & Investment (UKTI).

 The High Commissioner will on Tuesday 15th July hold various meetings with leaders from the area including County Governor Joseph Nanok, area MPs and members of the county assembly. He will later in the week visit UK aid funded projects in the area, and attend a workshop on public participation which is organised by Members of the county assembly in Turkana.
