Woman stripped naked by ‘boda boda’ operators

Bungoma, Kenya: Valentine’s Day ended on a sour note for a woman in Kimilili town, Bungoma County, after she was stripped naked by boda boda operators for allegedly dressing inappropriately.

The woman, in her early 20s, who was dressed in a mini-skirt was stripped and made to walk naked in the town streets for more than 30 minutes on Friday.

Witnesses said trouble started when the lady engaged in a war of words with one of the motorcyclists who made snide remarks about her dressing.

“In a fit of rage, she slapped the boda boda man who was hurling expletives at her and all hell broke loose. The scorned rider shouted back at the lady on top of his voice attracting his colleagues who proceeded to strip her,” an observer who gave his name as only Kimtai told The Standard On Sunday.

The incident brought business in the usually busy town to a near halt, with hundreds of curious onlookers flocking to the scene to see the nude lady, who had nowhere to run to as the boda boda operators surrounded her, blocking all exits.

The crowd hurriedly dispersed after word went around that police officers were heading to the scene. The lady took the opportunity to dash into a clothes shop in the opposite street, where she got herself a new set of clothes.
