Seek Raila’s advice, Orengo tells Oduol

By Lawrence Aluru

NYANZA; KENYA: Lands Minister James Orengo has asked gubernatorial aspirant William Oduol to seek advice from the PM Raila Odinga as a strategy to avert unnecessary tension in Siaya County.

Orengo who is the ODM senatorial aspirant said Siaya County which is Raila’s stronghold is being watched by the entire country.

Orengo said those seeking elective posts on parties not allied to CORD needs to find a way of connecting with the PM to strategise on peaceful polls.

“You need to find a string that will connect you with the PM who will be the fourth president of Kenya if you are not in the CORD,” said Orengo.

Orengo said it is the parliament that makes the budget but senators will defend the budget hence it was useless
having  a president whose party have not sponsored more leaders in  National assembly.

The Minister said it was true democracy has come to the people, but they need to use “their heads” and scrutinise these leaders before voting them to power lest they bring down development in the region.

“The strength of Raila would be determined by its party strength, hence those eying seats with different political parties not allied to cord needs to go and set it with the PM as the doors it’s not yet closed,” he added.

Orengo who is optimistic that Cord will form the next government appealed to electorates to support PM presidential bid for he is the man whose track record was clean.

Speaking to the same delegation, Oduol hailed Orengo’s proposal to meet Raila saying that he has no grudge against the PM and would continue campaigning for him in the vast County.

Personally I have no grudge with PM, he is my Presidential Candidate. I will try to reach the PM through his close confidante to discuss the touchy issues.

“Since the PM did not have a hand at the party primaries, I am still working hand in hand with the PM,” Oduol
said.

Among those who attended burial for the father of immediate former Mayor Obiero Otare includes Former County
Council Chairman Aggrey Onyango, Obama’s elder brother Malik Obama, among others.
