Cook faints after catching his wife with a student

A cook collapsed outside a guesthouse in Gucha South after catching his wife in the act with a student at the secondary school where he works.

Residents of Ekona market were treated to drama when the man, a father of three armed with a machete and rungu and clad in an apron walked, hastily towards the guesthouse.

Being a Christian who tied the knot in a colourful church wedding, the cook decided not to cause a stir at the guesthouse. He just furiously tapped at his mobile handset as he waited patiently for the wife to emerge from the room.

Sensing danger, curious workers at the guesthouse called APs from a nearby police post to avoid a blood bath.

Together  with South Mugirango Borabu chief David Kenyanya, the APs forced the door to the room open, catching the woman and the student pants down.

A crowd quickly gathered at the guesthouse as the woman and her lover hastily dressed up.

“Tell me this is not true! Nabo nakwa natiga abana bane eroro? (so I am going to die leaving my children in a desert?),” shouted the wailing man before he collapsed in a heap.

Kicks

The mob surged forward, shouting obscenities at the woman as others administered first aid to the collapsed cook.

The policemen had a rough time shielding the woman and the boy from kicks and blows.

“How can a mature woman corrupt a student’s morals like this? You deserve a good beating to teach you a lesson. Our women have gone too far,” shouted one.

When the cook recovered from shock, he had to be restricted as he slapped the boy while muttering incoherently.

“How can you sleep with a woman your mother’s age? Instead of concentrating on your exams, this is what you do?” posed the cook in anger.

After being calmed down by the chief and a few elders, the couple was asked to explain themselves.

“It is pains me to say this but I cannot continue staying with a man who is like a sister to me,” said the woman amid peals of laughter from the crowd. He failed in his duties as a man so don’t blame me”.

When the situation threatened to degenerate into a fight, the couple and the boy were taken to the AP post where they were joined by one of his in-laws and the school principal.

“Probably this cook spent all his energy preparing food at the school forgetting his manly duties,” joked a tout.

On interrogation, the 18-year-old boy admitted having an affair with the woman. He said they usually met at guesthouses and in nearby farms, adding that she met all the costs each time they went out.

The principal pleaded with the chief to have the student freed to allow him complete his exams before facing any disciplinary action.

“Since emotions were still high, we decided to release the couple until after a week when both parties will re-appear for determination of the matter,” said the chief.

The cook left swearing never to allow the woman to set foot in their matrimonial home again.
