Belgium coach Wilmots full of praise for Divock Origi ahead of South Korea clash

Belgium coach Marc Wilmots has showered praise on youngster Divock Origi describing him as a “calm and composed lad.”

Ahead of Belgium’s final group match against South Korea on Thursday at Arena de Sao Paolo, Wilmots conveyed heartfelt message to Kenyans for their support to the youngster.

“Divock is in the hands of a very good crop of players and besides me here there is one (Daniel van Buyten).

“He will learn good values from them and hopefully grow to become a real star.

“I have told him everything does not stop because he scored at the Maracana,” Wilmots said.

Origi, son of former Harambee Stars striker and captain, came off the bench to book Belgium’s passage to the second round with a crisp goal against Russia on June 22.

Belgium will rest captain Vincent Kompany and Thomas Vermalaen for the South Korea match after both players suffered slight knocks. With the Belgians qualified, there is real possibility that Origi could get a starting slot ahead of Romelo Lukaku against the Koreans.

Wilmots will be keen to finish top of Group H and avoid early clash with Germany who take on Ghana on Thursday.
