A new train plying the Kahawa route will now ease congestion in the city

Kenya Railways has announced the introduction of a new commuter train service that will ply the Kahawa route.

This is a move by the Government to de-congest the Nairobi Central Business District.

Through a public notice, Kenya Railways announced that the new commuter service will commence on Monday, April 16, 2018.

In addition to the new commuter train service, the government also notified the public of the re-adjustment of their timings of the Kikuyu route. The train will now depart Kikuyu station at 6. 00 am and not 6.10 am as previously scheduled.

“In addition, we are re-adjusting our timings of the Kikuyu route to have the train depart Kikuyu station at 0600 hours as opposed to 0610 hours as previously scheduled, “read the notice.
