Uhuru should deal with Raila’s bodyguards Moi's way- Mutahi Ngunyi

Controversial political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi on 27 January said that President Uhuru Kenyatta should arrest National Super Alliance (NASA) Coalition leader Raila Odinga’s bodyguards and put them all under house arrest.

Mr. Mutahi also urged President Uhuru to withdraw security from Raila and all his colleagues if he plans to do a coup on January 30.

He also said that his security’s firearm licenses should be canceled and their passports taken away from them the way former president Moi did during his time.

“On Raila, Uhuru should show him no mercy because Raila will show him none. If Raila is planning to do a coup on January 30 all his security should be withdrawn from him and his colleagues. All firearm licenses should be canceled and firearms be confiscated. Their passports should also be taken away the way Moi used to do it… they should actually be put under house arrest in my view,” said Mutahi Ngunyi on his YouTube Channel.

Raila Odinga is scheduled to take the oath on Tuesday, January 30.

On Monday morning January 29 NASA CEO Norman Magaya said that they will swear-in NASA leader Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka as the president and Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya and not as the People’s president.

“First of all, I want to clarify a few things. Number one is that we are swearing-in the right Honorable Raila Odinga and Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka as the President of the Republic of Kenya and not as People’s president, so that needs to be made clear,” Mr. Magaya said during an exclusive interview with KTN.

Earlier, the Opposition leaders had said that Raila will be sworn in as ‘The People’s President’ on January 30th as they finalized plans for the ceremony to be held at Uhuru Park, Nairobi.

The NASA CEO still maintained that they will not change the venue for the ceremony despite the Nairobi County Government issuing a notice announcing that the Uhuru Park will be closed until further notice, to allow phase improvements so as to ‘enhance recreational usefulness to its visitors’.
