Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has assured his supporters that his name will be on the ballot in the forthcoming August polls. The incumbent is facing competition from four challengers the closest being Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale according to recent opinion polls.
Speaking to mourners at Muroni Primary school in Mumias East Constituency during the send-off service for the former larger Mumias legislature Hon. Francis Obongita, Mr. Oparanya categorically said that the ongoing calls for his arrest by the Senate for snubbing its sermons is being fueled by his opponent whom he accused of using the Senate as a political tool rather than an oversight role institution.
